Meiji Gekken: 1874 S01

The year is 1874. Hijikata Toushirou, once a samurai from the mountains of Aizu, now works as a rickshaw boy, searching for his lost betrothed, Saito Hajime is not mentioned but, unexpected events lead him to the newly established police force, entangling him in a plot to overthrow the government. Meanwhile, the Mouryoukya yakuza clan welcomes a guest, Kiyoshiro Shouryuuji, a skilled swordsman. Kiyoshiro strategically joins the clan, which has ties to the mastermind behind the government overthrow. The stage is set for a fateful showdown between Hijikata and Kiyoshiro, where bittersweet reunions and partings await Hijikata on his journey.
